I was invited to the NDR studio in Oldenburg by a journalist who is writing a review of the RJ film "All your faces" from France.

The journalist Timo Stukenberg - freelance writer is a reporter who focuses on civil liberties. He has been closely observing the conditions in German prisons for years. He asked me very clever and professional questions about my practical experience in conducting restorative circle dialogues based on my concept "Affected Persons' Work in the Penal System (BoAS)" in German prisons and about the film "All your faces". Mr. Stukenberg began with questions about my last project in the Bielefeld-Brackwede prison, then he asked questions about the results and the mechanisms of action of this restorative justice approach. For example, how does such a confrontation between offenders and victims contribute to resocialization and to what extent does it challenge our understanding of justice? Finally, he discussed the introduction of RJ measures in the German prison system and why they are not carried out more often. At this point, I was also a little confused... is it due to the resources in the prison system, the unconventional approach, which is different to the usual approach in criminal prosecution? Is it because RJ has not yet penetrated all corners of the justice system? I cannot answer that with any certainty yet and am really looking forward to the radio report on December 5th in the Zeitfragen magazine on Deutschlandfunk Kultur !
Here is information about the film:

The film will be released on December 14, 2023, followed by an online panel discussion, in which I will be able to participate with Christoph Willms from the TOA Service Office and Dr. Mr. Kilchling. Prisons also have the opportunity to show this film at the same time as in the cinemas or at another time with the participation of the prisoners on the panel with questions.
The film very well depicts the encounter between victims of crimes and prisoners, just as I experience it when conducting the restorative circle dialogues in the penal system based on my concept of "victim-oriented work in the penal system (BoAS)". There is also a second storyline in the film, which deals with the direct encounter between a victim and the perpetrator of the sexual violence that was committed against her.
