On June 15, 2026, the second nationwide hybrid conference of the Violence Prevention Network's Working Group on Prison and Probation Services will take place at the "Umweltforum" in Berlin. If you would like to attend, please register now! There are 100 places available in person, so please select within your teams who will be coming to Berlin, as the conference addresses many different professional groups, and we need to ensure everyone has a place. There is no limit to the number of participants in the livestream, meaning no one will be excluded. You can find the program and registration form here: https://eveeno.com/agsub

For the VPN Homepage | Violence Prevention Network I have already offered two online training courses for interested parties in 2024 and 2025, both of which were very well attended. There, I was able to present my restorative justice project in the prison system to a professional audience; it is rightly considered a "lighthouse project." Based on my concept of "Survivor-Oriented Work in Prisons" (BoAS), a group dialogue was successfully conducted in prisons in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia between inmates, victims of crimes (but not of the specific crime itself), and members of society who are neither responsible for nor affected by the crime. In addition to the concepts of restorative justice and reparation, the ideas of rehabilitation and resocialization were also implemented. Based on the individual project steps at the organizational and content-related levels, the benefits for all participants, as well as the success and failure factors of the restorative justice process, were presented and discussed from a professional perspective.

I will be participating in the conference on June 15, 2026 in Berlin with a workshop (participation via livestream is also possible!) with the following workshop:

Restorative Justice – a reparation-oriented approach to work in the prison system (BoAS)

The workshop will present a restorative justice process that has been successfully implemented in two correctional facilities and can be considered a best-practice example. A key component is a restorative circle dialogue involving inmates, victims of crime (not necessarily from the same offense), and members of civil society who are neither responsible for nor victims of the crime. Within this structured dialogue format, the principles of restorative justice and reparation become tangible and practical. At the same time, it demonstrates how rehabilitative and resocializing approaches can be effectively integrated into the prison system.
